 Selling dimensional products
The main challenge when selling dimensional products to your customers is ensuring they understand the relative value. Often it involves up-selling the customer from a more simple 2D representation of what they need to wanting a 3D version. The best way to do this is by using sample parts. Most consumers will find it hard to visualize dimensional products so whatever your application is you should make some samples to show the customer when discussing their project with them. A great way to do this is have a showroom or gallery or if you visit your customer create a case of smaller samples you can take with you. That way you can show them a variety of options and finishes. As well as showing them the finished product you can also show them a choice of 3D motifs that they can choose from. We cannot offer specific guidelines to pricing as our models are used in so many applications, there are some fundamental things to keep in mind when deciding on the price to your customer. When you price your part you should include the cost of buying the model, time for cutting it, any finishing required and of course a profit margin. Factoring this into your normal pricing process should allow you to provide customers with a price for a specific dimensional product or for the option of having 3D additions to their parts.
